who we are

Two women able to determine our own futures… join us.

We are two women, Heather and Ann, who love our lives! We are mindful participants in creating our future. We believe that by being truly you,
struggle disappears,
questions find answers,
life regains perspective,
growth becomes inevitable,
well-being returns as your natural state,
and the journey of life becomes easy and joyful!

But we didn’t always have this clarity. A few years ago, we were two women doing what we were “supposed to do”. We didn’t think of it that way at the time—it was life… it was our lives. We were focused on building great careers with a well-respected Fortune 500 company, managing a loving family (Ann), trying to find a life partner (Heather) and proactively planning for the future. We tried, we worked, we endeavored, we strove.

Life was a challenge to be undertaken, something to get through and make the most of. We embraced the difficulties and hardship in life (and all the “corporate coaching and feedback”!) as learning experiences and opportunities for growth, even though often times it left us feeling devalued and wrong, questioning where our own unique contributions actually fit in. We thought it was good to push ourselves to be better, more, to push ourselves to “the next level” and live in the place of striving. We were thoughtful and aspired to do the “right thing”, checking and rechecking our motivations, weighing the pros and the cons, carefully considering our decisions and how they would affect us and others. These were our lives.

Then, in an instant, each of us started to change, each in her own way. Maybe it was a mid-life thing. Maybe it was the result of personal work we had each embarked on just months earlier (referencing books like The Secret, and reading authors like Deepak Chopra, Abraham-Hicks, Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Echart Tolle, and attending seminars like The Art of Conscious Living facilitated by Michel Eubank-Spruance). But the shift was sudden and profound.

We let go of the striving,
let go of the pushing ourselves,
let go of the “right thing”…
We let go of fear and decided to just be.
And it was then when we were transformed. The minute each of us let go of aspiring to be more and fell in love with our souls exactly as they were, we experienced more profound growth than we ever had before.

We have now embarked on a life where the “right thing” is to be who we truly are. We understand that life is not about “working” to overcome personal “inadequacies” in order to grow, it is about embracing the very being that you are and through that self-acceptance, growth… and success… and happiness become inevitable. The mission of life is not to “achieve” but simply to be. And being means sacredly embracing one’s self. And with this soulful love and acceptance of self comes a more profound love and acceptance of others and of this world. There is no judgement. You can go through each day and see love and hope and joy.

And moreover, we started to understand that we shape our lives everyday by what we focus on, with the words we choose and the thoughts that permeate our minds. We began to envision living our passion freely, feeling valued for our unique contributions, and defining our own destiny. We created a vision board. We began to have fun! We began to embrace life with childlike exuberance. And before we knew it, we had created the foundation of what has become this fantastic company.

So with this new perspective, we quit our fabulous Fortune 500 managerial careers that were the envy of many and we let go of the striving and the hardship we had previously thought were so integral to life success… and we chose to follow our bliss.

And the funny thing is... we found that when we focused on being who we truly are, life became easy and wonderous! We used to believe in… so many things… but now we know. We know that the purpose in life is joy. And the key to joy in life is to be truly you. And, miraculously, by being truly you, growth and success become inevitable.

Full of the inspiration that has transformed our lives, we created be truly you to celebrate all those individuals on their own quest to determine their own future, follow their bliss and be truly them.

This life is yours, all you must do is…
be truly you
